Old Testament Prophets


         This article contains a comprehensive list of the Old Testament Prophets. Names of both the Major Old Testament Prophets and the minor Old Testament Prophets have been included in this list. In religion, aprophet is a person who has claimed to have been encountered by the supernatural or the divine, an interpreter of the will of God. Aprophet is an authoritative person who serves as an intermediary with humanity. A prophecy is a prediction uttered under divine inspiration.


        The prophets named in the Old Testament are  people who have claimed to have been encountered by the supernatural or the divine, an interpreter ofthe will of God. There are many different prophets whose names are mentioned in the Old Testament.


Ancient Prophets - The Hebrew Bible (called the Tanakh) records ten ancient prophets.The names of the Ancient Prophets of the Old Testament are as follows:

Prophets of Israel and Judah - After thedeath of King Solomon the kingdom of Israel split into two halves.
